With its amazing drumming, rockin’ guitars and politically-charged lyrics, this CD by indie thrash metal band Jarhead is hard to ignore. Although some of the lyrics may ring hollow as typical anti-corporate platitudes, some of the lyrics resonate more deeply. For example, the words, “Whatcha gonna do when the banks all fall/Will ya stab our backs and take it all,” from Bomb Shelter Banks, hits particularly close to home in the wake of the deepening economic downturn. Overall, Image of Insanity is a great album, and worth buying for the impressive guitar work alone.
